The Dejunair Project

The Dejunair Project creates "Free and Open Source Music" or "Open Music". This means simply, you can use the music for whatever you want at no cost (free beer!). You can use the tracks for podsafe music in your podcast, backing or overlay music in videos, remix for a total new track, or whatever else you can dream up. The goal of the project is nothing more than to share music with others for free and provide them the building blocks which make up a particular instrumental to reuse however they see fit. Or even just listen to the music (a sample follows).

The individual mix tracks for each instrument used on a particular song are freely available for download in FLAC format for sampling or remixing (free speech!). They provide released songs in OGG and MP3 versions for wider compatibility and ease of use/playback on various platforms.

The Dejunair Project is presently composed of two main collaborators, MrBouncy and McStrum, but they are always looking for new contributors to the project. Currently based in the Seattle area, MrBouncy handles the bass, miscellaneous percussion, drum sequencing, and final mix duties. Meanwhile McStrum is located near Kansas City, handling all of the guitars, drum sequencing, composing and most of the demo/rough mixes to date.

The project just turned a year old in February and wheels are in motion for their first physical CD release. To date they have had over 100,000 downloads and counting. www.dejunair.com
