Chef Marcel at your service!Food, Wine, and Linux may seem like a strange combination, but combining three passions can be a wonderful thing. I'm Marcel Gagné. Those of you who read Cooking with Linux, the multi-award-winning column that appeared monthly in Linux Journal magazine for 10 years, likely agree. With the help of my faithful waiter, François, Restaurant Chez Marcel serves up the finest in Linux and open source software paired with exceptional wines.

In that same spirit, this site features great Linux and Open Source software, ongoing wine tasting reports, recipes, and the occasional restaurant review. If you came here looking to read past Cooking with Linux columns, you'll find newer releases on the front page, a comprehensive list here and under the "CWL, The Column" menu link to the left. A votre santé! Bon appétit!

Hey Marcel -

Great news cast... and interesting stories.

Everyday... question is, can you do it every day? I was thinking 3 times a week, Monday, Thursday, Saturday. Saturday being the weekend (extended) addition. Do 4 or 5 stories the other two days and then Satueday give 7 or 8 to get us through the weekend. Weekend edition a bit beefier.

Maybe even have a weekend host.

Just my 2 cents.

Regards,

Haawk

Hi Marcel, Why not do it every day? So long as you keep it short - 5 min is Ok - we can watch when we like. You also need to remember that some of us have verrry slow broadband. Taking 8 mins to download a 5 min webcast is not funny. Please keep a good log of the webcasts and try to do good titles for the list of casts. I like the subtitled time-since cast. Lin

You know me, I'm up for WFTL on camera anytime. My only concern would be the effort you'll have to expend on it. I spend between two and three hours reading and researching for the 1-4 news items that run on linuxjournal.com each day; it didn't start out that way, but that's what it's grown to after a year of doing it daily.

If you're going to be picking from stuff you're reading anyway (that is, not specifically going out looking for items) and the prep/recording time doesn't cut into your day too badly, then I'm all for it. If you're going to have to spend a lot of time finding stuff and getting everything ready, then I don't think it's fair to you, no matter how much we all want more WFTL.

As for everything else, I thought it was great - though that isn't the hat. :P
